  • The advantages of the MT-03 autogyro over conventional fixed-wing aircraft are:

Open cockpit fun! but well protected form the elements, like wind and rain.
No bouncing around in turbulence
minimal take-off distances (typically 50 to 200 m)
very short landing distance
wide speed range, with a very low minimum speed
and the following disadvantage:

higher drag, leading to lower speeds and a shorter range
An autogyro costs only about 10% as much to own and operate as a helicopter yet can accomplish 90% of what a helicopter can do.  Unlike a helicopter an autogyro cannot hover, take off or land vertically.
